A long-established and respected UK-based engineering business is expanding its team due to continued growth and increasing demand. Specializing in bespoke automation, robotics integration, and special purpose machinery, this company is seeking a Controls Engineer who is hands-on, proactive, and aligned with a high-integrity, high-commitment team culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop industrial control systems from the ground up, including PLC programming (Allen Bradley & Siemens).
• Design and configure industrial communication networks (EtherNET, ProfiNET).
• Work collaboratively on bespoke automation and robotic integration projects.
• Perform in-house build and test activities, with periodic travel for commissioning and support (UK & North America).
• Engage fully in a supportive, high-functioning team environment with a strong "make it happen" mindset.

Controls Engineer Job Requirements

• Proven background in industrial automation / manufacturing.
• Experience programming PLCs from scratch - Allen Bradley and Siemens are essential.
• Comfortable with factory-based work - must live within a realistic commuting distance of Gloucestershire.
• Valid British or EU passport - able to travel freely to the USA/Canada.
• Willing and able to travel internationally for short stints (up to two weeks at a time) as needed per project.
• Someone who fits well into a family-run, friendly, non-corporate culture.

• Practical, proactive, reliable, and flexible.

Controls Engineer Salary & Benefits

• £48,000 - £55,000 (Max)
• Private Healthcare (incl. partner/child)
