Conveyancing Assistant

Role - Conveyancing Assistant,
Salary - £23,000 - £25,000,
Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire,

We are currently seeking a proactive and organised Residential Conveyancing Assistant to join our established and busy conveyancing team. This role is ideal for someone with previous experience in residential property who is confident supporting fee earners in progressing transactions from instruction through to completion.

• 
  Support fee earners in managing a caseload of residential conveyancing matters, including sales, purchases, remortgages, and transfers of equity.
• 
  Prepare and draft documentation such as client care letters, contract packs, SDLT forms and Land Registry applications.
• 
  Assist with the onboarding of new clients, including ID checks, file opening and compliance processes.
• 
  Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and solicitors to obtain updates and progress matters.
• 
  Order searches and gather supporting documents required for transactions.
• 
  Monitor key dates (e.g. exchange, completion), ensuring deadlines are met and clients are kept informed.
• 
  Update case management systems and maintain accurate records and file notes.
• 
  Handle post-completion tasks such as submitting SDLT returns and registering transactions with HM Land Registry.
• 
  Provide general administrative support to the conveyancing team, including filing, scanning, and archiving.

• 
  Previous experience as a Conveyancing Assistant or in a similar legal support role is essential.
• 
  Good working knowledge of residential property processes and terminology.
• 
  Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• 
  Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• 
  Confident using Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
• 
  Ability to manage a busy workload and work effectively as part of a team.
