A prestigious law firm ranked highly in the Southwest are looking to grow their corporate team in Cheltenham; this involves handling the kind of complex, high-value deals you'd usually associate with much bigger city firms (but without the long hours or red tape).

The team works across the full corporate lifecycle, from private and public M&A and joint ventures through to IPOs, AIM listings, and securities work. They act for a mix of fast-growing UK businesses, international clients, private equity houses, and brokers; deals regularly ranging from £10 million to £100 million+. It’s a really interesting, varied caseload, and much of the work has a cross-border angle.

You’d be working with two experienced partners - one with a strong private equity and investment focus, the other more on the M&A and corporate finance side. Their work is both technical and commercial, and you’ll be involved from day one. The current team includes a Legal Director, Senior Associate, two Associates and a Trainee, all backed by an excellent internal support function, so there’s a great structure in place to help you hit the ground running.

You’ll have the chance to lead on transactions (at the right level), get involved in mentoring junior colleagues if that’s your thing, and take part in client development.

The wider firm turns over more than £150 million annually, and the corporate group is a key part of that. The Cheltenham office itself is a major part of the firm’s national growth strategy, so you’ll be joining a team that’s really going places - retaining their focus on people and personality over pure billing.
