If you’re a corporate lawyer with 2+ years’ PQE looking to take the next step in a supportive, forward-thinking team, this is a great opportunity to join one of the Thames Valley’s standout regional firms. Recently named “Law Firm of the Year 2024”, this Legal 500-ranked firm has grown steadily across its five offices and now generates over £20 million in annual turnover.

You’ll be joining the firm’s wider Business Team, which encompasses corporate, commercial, and employment law, and currently sits at around 25 lawyers and support staff across the three main offices. The corporate sub-team includes two senior partners, three senior associates, and several mid-level lawyers and paralegals, creating a well-balanced structure that allows for mentorship, collaboration, and a clear path for progression. The team operates as one unit across offices, regularly collaborating on cross-office matters while still maintaining local autonomy and client relationships.

The team’s work spans a broad range of corporate instructions - buying and selling companies and businesses, founder exits, MBOs, joint ventures, private equity investments, shareholder and partnership agreements, and group reorganisations. The client base is diverse, with a strong focus on the tech, life sciences, and professional services sectors, and ranges from early-stage startups to well-established national businesses.

This role will give you the chance to handle your own caseload of corporate transactions, while also working closely with more senior lawyers on complex matters. Business development is a part of the role, but it’s a supportive environment where the emphasis is on building long-term client relationships rather than aggressive targets.

They’re looking for someone with solid transactional experience, ideally from a corporate-focused practice, who is proactive, commercially aware, and confident dealing directly with clients. Strong drafting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team will set you up for success here.
