Why This Role Is Valuable 

An exciting opportunity to join a growing legal team at Revantage UK as a Senior Associate, Transactions. The role will support Blackstone Real Estate and Revantage UK’s European Portfolio Companies, as part of the Revantage UK legal team.

The main focus of the role will be supporting transactions, with an initial focus on disposals, across a range of portfolio companies and platforms within Blackstone’s European Real Estate portfolio. You will also be flexible enough to get involved with a range of varied legal matters which arise on a daily basis in the portfolio. You will also help to support Revantage’s global legal projects, aimed at driving quality, innovation and consistency across the portfolio. This will particularly involve working with Revantage Europe’s legal team, based in Luxembourg.

Location & Office

Located within the iconic Shard our office space reflects who we are and how we work, with collaboration and efficiency in mind. We work to a hybrid model with employees generally working in the office 3-days a week.

How You Add Value 

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with and help to coordinate deal teams, portfolio companies and external counsel to effect well-run, efficient transactions consistent with deal and risk parameters.


• Oversee smaller transactions and assist on larger transactions. Work will involve overseeing matters including sale preparation, engagement letters and confidentiality agreements, due diligence, SPA negotiation, W&I insurance, completion mechanics and tracking of liabilities and post completion filings and registrations.


• Effectively manage external counsel throughout Europe on transactional matters.


• Work closely with Revantage Europe and Blackstone Real Estate to design and manage processes and protocols to effect smooth and efficient transactions.


• Ensure playbook of best practice transactional positions is regularly updated with latest market positions.


• Work closely with business teams to assess and advise on business risks and risk mitigation strategies as they relate to transactions.


• Advise business partners on the status of relevant transactions.


• Work closely with Blackstone Real Estate’s investment professionals on transactions.


• Work with Blackstone and Revantage teams to enhancing existing deal processes to effectively manage transaction risk while ensuring deal speed and efficiency.


• Develop both internal relationships and relationships with external law firms and service providers.


• Think creatively and help to introduce innovations and technological solutions to enhance current processes.


• Train and mentor trainees and paralegals. 

What You Bring To The Role

Required:

• Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 2 years’ post qualification experience.


• M&A experience within Real Estate sector or other sectors that provide relevant experience.


• Experience of managing project teams and coordinating a range of advisors.


• Comfortable to work both independently and as part of a team.


• Ability to work under pressure on time sensitive matters.


• Highly effective and concise communicator who is able to engage with stakeholders at multiple levels of seniority within Revantage (in the US, Europe and Asia), Portfolio Companies and Blackstone.


• Exceptionally proactive, having the ability to take responsibility for new deals/projects and see them through to conclusion.


• Comfortable developing relationships with investment and asset management professionals at Blackstone and third-party operating partners.


• Good technical skills, commercial sense and ethical mindset. 


• Keen interest in new legal technology and how it can add value to the business.

Desirable:

• Strong academics.


• Some experience of leasing and development.


• Experience of supervision of trainees/paralegals.


• Language skills.
