Cost Accountant

Are you a proactive and commercially-minded finance professional looking for your next challenge? We're working with a well-established organisation based in Coventry who are seeking a talented Cost Accountant to join their team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in manufacturing or project accounting who is eager to step into a role where they can truly partner with operations and help drive business performance. Salary on offer is up to £55,000 + bonus and enhanced benefits, alongside hybrid working.

You will act as the key finance partner to the operational teams, providing valuable financial insight to support strategic decision making. This isn't a role where you'll be sat churning out reports, we want to speak to individuals who can put themselves out there and embed themselves within the business unit. You'll partner closely with both financial and non financial stakeholders,

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering accurate gross margin reporting, labour analysis and materials efficiency metrics

• Maintaining and monitoring standard and current costs for purchased and manufactured goods

• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes for operational and project expenditure

• Providing financial input for tender submissions and new business opportunities

• Managing stock controls, reconciling inventory and assisting with year-end stock takes

• Partnering with operations to drive efficiency and profitability through better financial insights

• Contributing to audits and statutory reporting requirements

• Developing and improving financial reporting tools using Excel, including pivot tables and basic macros

To succeed in this role, you will be:

• A qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)

• Experienced in manufacturing or project accounting environments

• Skilled in margin analysis, cost control, budgeting, and inventory management

• Proficient in Excel, including pivot tables and basic macro development

• A confident communicator, able to explain financial concepts to non-finance colleagues

• Analytical, detail-oriented and proactive in your approach to process improvement
