We’re looking for a Cost Accountant to join our team in, Kings Hill, UK.

 We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cost Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and validating customer models, conducting margin analysis and developing and tracking budgets. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting the company’s financial health, with a specific focus on the commercial sector. 

Responsibilities include:

• Support Smart Pricing Decisions – Maintain and validate customer models to drive accurate pricing and profitability analysis.
• Deliver Clear Margin Insights – Conduct in-depth margin analysis to spot trends, highlight variances, and guide strategic decisions.
• Own Budgeting Excellence – Develop, track, and maintain budgets aligned with key financial targets and business goals.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally – Work closely with procurement, commercial, and operations teams to gather and interpret financial data.
• Provide Sharp Variance Analysis – Identify gaps, recommend corrective actions, and support data-driven decision-making.
• Ensure Financial Accuracy – Apply robust costing methods and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
• Uphold Data Integrity – Champion data governance and ensure quality assurance across financial models and systems.
• Support Senior Leadership – Assist in preparing insightful financial reports and engaging presentations for management.
• Drive Business Performance – Focus on financial performance, accurate cost allocation, and deep profitability analysis across all functions.

Experience we look for:

Essential

• CIMA qualification or a related qualification. 

• Proven experience as a Cost Accountant or similar role
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Suite. 

• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. 

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

Desirable

• Experience in the fresh produce industry. 
• Experience in commercial focussed accounting and financial analysis is a plus. 
• Intermediate power query skills desirable.
