Cost Controller - Fleet Operations

Location: Alfreton

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm

Salary: £28,000-£30,000 (dependent on experience)

We're on the lookout for a meticulous and proactive Cost Controller to join our transport operations team. If you're passionate about numbers, negotiations, and making things run like clockwork, this is the role for you.

• Analyse and control fleet costs, driving efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities
• Challenge and authorise job costs (up to 100 daily), ensuring accuracy and accountability
• Oversee the estimate/authorisation workflow via email, phone, and portal platforms
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, repairers, and service agents
• Navigate diverse billing structures and ensure accuracy and consistency across the board
• Review compliance documentation, ensuring all records meet required standards

• Attention to detail in a high-paced environment
• Exceptional communication skills - both written and verbal
• Confident IT user, especially with Microsoft Excel
• Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support and collaborate
• Background in transport or fleet management (essential)
• Technical knowledge of vehicles or maintenance processes (a big plus)
