Cost Manager – Major Water Infrastructure Programme
Location: Tamworth (Hybrid – 4 days on site) Salary: £60,000–£80,000 + Benefits
I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a growing infrastructure consultancy who are looking to appoint a Cost Manager to support the delivery of a major water infrastructure programme in the Midlands. Our client is a specialist programme delivery and advisory consultancy. They deliver strategic PMO, planning and controls, and digital transformation services, supporting the delivery of complex, high-value programmes.
This is an opportunity to join a business that works across some of the UK's largest infrastructure projects, embedding experienced professionals into client teams to provide commercial, project controls and programme management expertise. The Role Working closely with the client and project delivery teams, you'll be responsible for providing commercial and cost management support across a portfolio of infrastructure projects.
You'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered within budget, managing costs, identifying commercial risks and supporting commercial governance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Cost planning, reporting and forecasting. Managing project budgets and cashflow. Administering change control and compensation events. Supporting NEC3/NEC4 contract administration. Monitoring commercial performance and identifying risks and opportunities. Working closely with project teams, clients and supply chain partners. Producing regular commercial reports and forecasts.
What We're Looking For
Experience as a Cost Manager, Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager. Strong understanding of NEC3/NEC4 contracts. Infrastructure experience is essential, with water sector experience beneficial but not essential. Comfortable working in a client-facing environment. Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills.
