Cost Manager

Role Overview

CCL Global is seeking an experienced Cost Manager to support a major public-sector construction and remediation programme.

This is a project-focused Cost Management position requiring strong Quantity Surveying, NEC contract and construction cost-estimating experience. We are looking for candidates from a construction/project delivery background.

Location: Mansfield – Hybrid 2 days in office)

Contract: 4 Months Inside IR35

Security Clearance: BPSS

Key Responsibilities

* Lead cost estimation for complex construction and operational projects.

* Develop initial project estimates and maintain cost forecasts throughout the project lifecycle.

* Analyse contractor tenders and assess whether submitted pricing represents appropriate value.

* Monitor project costs against budgets, forecasts and agreed tolerances.

* Develop monthly forecasts and compare these against contractor forecasts.

* Assess NEC Compensation Events (CEs), Early Warnings and their potential cost impact.

* Review and challenge Applications for Payment (AFP).

* Work with Project and Risk Managers to ensure project risks are appropriately costed and optimism bias is applied.

* Provide commercial and cost advice to Project Managers throughout project delivery.

* Identify and analyse historic cost information from completed projects to support future estimates.

* Identify emerging cost issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

Essential Experience

* Strong Cost Management and Quantity Surveying experience within construction projects.

* Demonstrable experience of NEC contracts and project delivery.

* Construction project estimating experience.

* Experience analysing and challenging construction tender pricing.

* Strong understanding of forecasting, cost control and contractor cost submissions.

* Experience assessing Compensation Events, Early Warnings and Applications for Payment.

* Ability to work closely with Project Managers, commercial teams and risk professionals
