Job Description - Country Manager UK (m/f/d) - Entrepreneur wanted
We are looking for a hands-on, entrepreneurial leader to take full responsibility for the operational management of our highly successful first UK store at 1 Islington High Street – and to drive further growth with the opening of new UK locations. You will be at the heart of our growth journey, ensuring smooth daily operations while building a scalable, values-driven business. While financial oversight and basic controlling tasks are part of the role, your main focus will be on operational leadership, team development, and the successful rollout of new branches. For the right candidate, this role offers the opportunity to participate in the company’s long-term success through equity ownership. Our growth journey is supported by established growth investors from Germany and Switzerland, who bring financial backing, but also serve as strategic partners. You will work closely with and under the supervision of the group CEO while enjoying a high level of freedom and trust to build the UK success case.
Take full ownership of the day-to-day operations of our existing location, ensuring excellence in customer experience, team performance and product quality.
Lead the setup, launch and management of new store locations – from planning to execution.
Continuously optimize operational processes to ensure scalability and efficiency as the business grows.
Recruit, lead, and motivate store teams across locations; foster a strong, positive team culture.
Work closely with the founders and management team on strategic decisions and growth plans.
Maintain oversight of financial performance and ensure basic finance processes (e.g. monthly reports, budget tracking, revenue reporting) are in place and reliable.
Collaborate with external partners (e.g. accounting, tax advisors, banks) and support financial planning on a pragmatic level.
Monitor KPIs, identify operational bottlenecks and develop solutions to drive performance and profitability.
Ensure compliance with internal guidelines and external regulations.
Proven experience in operational management, preferably in retail, food service, or a growth-focused business environment.
Strong entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for building and leading teams and systems.
Experience with store openings, multi-site operations, or business scaling is a plus.
Good commercial understanding and the ability to manage key financial indicators (P&L, costs, revenue, etc.) without needing to be a finance expert.
High energy, hands-on mentality, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Excellent organizational and communication skills; team-oriented and people-driven.
Confident in using common software tools (MS Office, basic ERP knowledge), with a willingness to learn.
A key leadership role in a mission-driven, fast-growing organic bakery business.
The opportunity to build and scale new locations with a high degree of autonomy and creativity.
A dynamic, grounded, and passionate team culture with a strong sense of purpose.
Attractive compensation and the option for equity participation.
A meaningful career path where you can make a real impact and grow with the company.
Ready to take ownership and shape the future of organic baking? We’d love to hear from you!
