Our client, a highly regarded full-service law firm in Thames Valley, is expanding its Court of Protection team in Reading and is seeking a solicitor (2-5 PQE) with a passion for supporting vulnerable clients and handling complex deputyship matters.

The Role

As a Court of Protection Solicitor, you will:
? Manage high-value deputyships and private trust cases, ensuring clients’ best interests are prioritised
? Prepare and submit Court of Protection applications, including statutory Wills and personal injury trusts
? Assist in the purchase and adaptation of properties, working with surveyors, architects and financial advisors
? Oversee clients’ budgets, monitor investments and manage tax affairs
? Liaise with case managers, medical experts and financial specialists to provide holistic client support
? Support and mentor junior colleagues and contribute to business development efforts
? Handle sensitive cases with compassion, professionalism and discretion

What We’re Looking For

? 2-5 years’ PQE in Court of Protection or Private Client work
? Strong client relationship skills, with the ability to provide tailored legal advice
? Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex legal issues in an accessible way
? Experience managing multiple tasks, including applications, budgeting and tax supervision
? Ability to work under pressure, adapt to changing circumstances and meet deadlines
? Experience in Clinical Negligence or catastrophic injury claims (desirable but not essential)
