A well -established and inclusive secondary setting in the London Borough of Enfield is seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join their team on a full -time, temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands -on experience across Key Stages 3 and 4, with exposure to a diverse student community and a strong focus on positive behaviour and achievement.
The role involves supervising whole classes during the short -term absence of teaching staff, using pre -prepared lesson plans and resources. You will be responsible for maintaining a calm, safe and purposeful learning environment, ensuring students remain engaged, on task and working to a high standard.
This position would suit someone with a strong classroom presence, good communication skills and a genuine interest in education. It is particularly well suited to aspiring teachers, graduates considering a career in education, or experienced support staff seeking a new challenge.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4 during teacher absence
• Deliver prepared lesson materials and instructions
• Manage behaviour in line with school policies
• Support students with learning tasks and respond to questions appropriately
• Take accurate registers and report any concerns
• Liaise with teaching staff regarding lesson outcomes
• Promote inclusion, safeguarding and equal opportunities at all times
The ideal candidate will have:
• GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths
• Experience working with children or young people (paid or voluntary)
• Confidence managing groups of secondary -aged pupils
• A professional, reliable and flexible approach
Experience in a secondary school setting and knowledge of safeguarding procedures are desirable but not essential.
