Cover Supervisor - About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join this committed team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and is interested in pursuing a career in education. The role is ideal for graduates considering teacher training, experienced support staff, or individuals with previous experience in youth work or tutoring.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
* Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring that students complete the work set by their teacher.
* Maintain a positive and orderly learning environment, managing student behaviour in line with the school's policies and expectations.
* Answer students' questions about the work to the best of your ability and encourage them to stay focused and engaged.
* Report back to teachers on student progress, behaviour, and any issues that arise during cover lessons.
* Assist with administrative tasks and provide additional support within departments when cover is not required.
* Contribute to the wider school community and uphold the school's values at all times.

Cover Supervisor - About You
We are looking for candidates who:
* Have experience working with young people in an educational or youth setting (desirable but not essential).
* Are confident managing groups of secondary-aged students and promoting positive behaviour.
* Have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
* Are flexible, resilient, and able to adapt quickly to changing situations.
* Have a genuine interest in education and supporting students' learning and wellbeing.
* Hold a good standard of education, including GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
