Secondary Cover Supervisors Wanted Across Northamptonshire

APT Education is currently recruiting confident, professional and adaptable Cover Supervisors to support Secondary Schools across Northampton, Kettering, Corby, Wellingborough, Daventry, Towcester and surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in teaching, coaching, tutoring, youth work, mentoring or education support roles who are looking to work within secondary schools and make a positive impact on young people's education.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-set work in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring pupils remain engaged, motivated and on task throughout lessons.

Responsibilities include:

* Supervising lessons across a range of subjects

* Managing classroom behaviour effectively

* Ensuring pupils complete work set by the teacher

* Maintaining a positive learning environment

* Following school policies and procedures

* Providing feedback to teaching staff following lessons

No lesson planning or marking is required.

Essential Requirements

We are seeking candidates who have experience working with young people and can confidently lead a classroom.

Suitable backgrounds include:

* Teaching

* Sports Coaching

* Tutoring

* Cover Supervision

* Youth Work

* Behaviour Mentoring

* Teaching Assistant Roles

* Learning Support Roles

* Alternative Provision Settings

Applicants should be able to demonstrate:

✅ Experience working with children or young people
✅ Strong behaviour management skills
✅ Confidence leading groups of students independently
✅ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
✅ A proactive and professional attitude
✅ The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
✅ Flexibility and reliability

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable but not essential.
