The Telecom, Media and Technology & Healthcare sector team offers an exciting position for a Associate position in London for an ambitious professional who enjoys working in an international environment. The TMT & Healthcare sector team is one of the global specialist sector coverage teams at the heart of ING Wholesale Banking. We provide banking services and financial solutions to telecommunication, media, entertainment, technology, satellite, healthcare and pharmaceutical companies globally. As an Associate based in London, you will play a key role in helping to manage our relationships with international corporate clients in the UK.

The global TMT & Healthcare sector team consists of dedicated professionals located in New York, Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, Milan, Madrid, Paris, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney, Taipei  and Tokyo. The teams in Europe together cover the EMEA region where ING is one of the leading banks in the sector.

Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role:

Key responsibilities: You will be a member of multiple client teams and be responsible to support the client relationship managers and assist deal teams involved in transactions which have a large impact on our clients. You work closely together with team members in other locations, and with various product specialists and local relationship managers across ING. In all your activities you will strive to meet client needs in the best way and beyond. As an Associate in the TMT & Healthcare sector coverage team your job is hugely diverse, but your main tasks consist of:

• Help building client relations and maintaining continuous dialogue with industry leaders and sector participants

• Actively support sector knowledges development and industry expertise

• Assisting the relationship managers in the strategic dialogue with clients, and discuss beyond-banking initiatives

• Maintaining contacts with other departments/disciplines within ING such as Corporate Finance, Lending, Loan Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Financial Markets, Transaction Services and Risk Management

• Pro-actively contribute to generating opportunities and transactions, and the origination efforts of the team by producing sector analyses, presentations, and pitch books

• Aiding the origination of flow business & deal opportunities, and safeguarding timely delivery of high-quality and seamless delivering of products and services to our clients

• Helping in the structuring of deals and participating in the negotiating of transactions in which ING acts as lead arranger

• Working with Lending bankers to complete financial models, credit analyses, rating profiles & peer group analysis and credit applications

• Assessing and reviewing industry reports and due diligence on clients in dynamic sectors

• Cooperating with Portfolio Management on credit monitoring, amendments and capital velocity initiatives

• Assisting the PAM’s and KYC SPOCS with KYC activities

Candidate Profile

Qualification/Education

• You are an ambitious professional with a Masters’ degree with excellent academic results

Experience/Knowledge

• You have 3-6 years of relevant experience

• Relationship-driven, people-oriented, finds it easy to make connections

• Entrepreneurial mindset and commercial acumen, with a thorough grasp of credit risk and ability to build relationships with ING clients and industry professionals  

• Strong connector, communicator and a highly effective team player

• A pro-active professional with a strong personal drive and a high level of self-motivation

• Basic knowledge and understanding of ING’s Wholesale Banking product suite, competitive positioning and appetite

• Affinity with the sector, and preferably prior experience with our industries

• Strong project & time management skills. Is able to deal with pressure and performs under tight deadlines

• International experience and cultural sensitivity
