CRE Construction / Design Manager
Overview
We are seeking an experienced CRE Construction / Design Manager to support the delivery of a major rail accessibility improvement programme across multiple station locations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and coordination of design and construction activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that all works are delivered safely, compliantly, and in accordance with project requirements. This role requires close collaboration with designers, contractors, project stakeholders, and client representatives to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate design management activities throughout project delivery. Manage the interface between design and construction teams across multiple work locations. Ensure all design and construction activities comply with relevant rail industry standards, processes, and assurance requirements. Liaise with project stakeholders, contractors, designers, and client representatives. Provide assurance that project deliverables meet safety, quality, and compliance standards. Support planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities. Manage multidisciplinary design reviews and construction interfaces. Coordinate with site-based teams to address technical and delivery challenges. Monitor project progress and help mitigate delivery risks.
Candidate Requirements
Proven experience as a CRE Construction Manager, CRE Design Manager, or a similar role within rail infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of rail industry standards, processes, and assurance requirements. Experience managing multidisciplinary design and construction interfaces. Demonstrable experience coordinating design and construction activities on complex infrastructure projects. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Ability to work across multiple project locations and effectively support site delivery teams. Strong organisational and problem-solving capabilities.
Location
This role will be primarily based across multiple station locations within the North West region, with occasional travel between sites as required.
Hybrid working is available, providing the opportunity to work remotely for 1-2 days per week where project commitments allow.
Contract Details
Start Date: Immediate Duration: Until April 2027 Engagement: Inside IR35 Rate: Competitive daily rate available
