Credit Controller - Wolverhampton
Office-based | Full-time | Up to £31,000 (depending on experience)

We're working with a well-established business in the heart of Wolverhampton who are looking for a Credit Controller to join their finance team. This is a great role for someone who's confident chasing payments, building strong customer relationships, and keeping the ledger running smoothly - but who also enjoys getting under the hood of systems and improving how things are done.

The credit function here is in a period of development, so you won't just be working through a set routine. You'll play an active part in helping build out reports from within the finance systems, assist with process improvements, and shape how credit control runs moving forward.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full ownership of your customer ledger - chasing payments, resolving queries, and maintaining account accuracy

• Allocating incoming cash and ensuring reconciliations are up to date

• Creating and pulling credit-related reports within the finance system (not just Excel)

• Helping to build and improve processes that support the credit function

• Supporting the team with ad hoc finance duties as needed while systems/processes are developed

• Assisting with credit reviews, cashflow forecasting, and aged debt clean-up

Candidate Attributes and Skills:

• Experience in credit control or AR, with confidence handling your own ledger

• Strong communication skills - both with customers and internal teams

• Good Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivots) and confident learning/reporting from finance systems

• Proactive, organised, and comfortable in a role that's evolving

• Interested in improving processes and making things run better
