Credit Controller

The Credit Controller will be responsible for managing the sales ledger, ensuring timely collection of payments, and maintaining strong relationships with customers. You will play a key role in protecting the company's cash flow and minimising credit risk in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

As part of their continued growth, they are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Credit Controller to join their finance team.

Description

Credit Controller

• Proactively manage and collect debts from a portfolio of B2B customers
• Monitor customer accounts to identify overdue payments and take appropriate action
• Issue customer statements and reminder letters/emails
• Maintain accurate records of communications and payment arrangements
• Investigate and resolve invoice and payment queries in collaboration with sales and customer service teams
• Place accounts on stop or release credit holds as required
• Prepare and distribute aged debt reports to management
• Assist with cash allocation and reconciliation of customer accounts
• Recommend accounts for escalation to legal or external collection agencies when necessary

Profile

A successful Credit Controller should have:

• Previous experience in a Credit Control role, ideally within FMCG, manufacturing, or distribution
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• Proficiency with accounting systems (e.g. SAP, Sage, Oracle) and Excel
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Confident, professional, and customer-focused approach
