Seymour John is working in partnership with a growing business based in Telford to recruit a dedicated Credit Controller on a permanent basis. This is a vital role focused on managing the company’s receivables, maintaining strong customer relationships, and supporting overall cash flow performance.

The Role:

As Credit Controller, you will take ownership of the end-to-end credit control process, ensuring timely payments and maintaining strong customer relationships. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Posting and allocating incoming payments accurately against customer accounts and invoices
• Contacting customers to resolve outstanding queries and secure prompt payment
• Proactively managing overdue accounts and following up on late payments via phone and email
• Producing regular cash flow forecasts and monitoring expected receipts
• Preparing and delivering monthly reports on aged debt, collections performance, and risk exposure
• Reconciling customer accounts and resolving discrepancies quickly and professionally
• Assessing the creditworthiness of new and existing clients, and recommending appropriate credit limits
• Collaborating with internal teams to resolve invoicing or account issues
• Maintaining compliance with credit policies and internal control procedures

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Proven experience in a Credit Controller/Accounts Assistant role
• A confident and professional communication style, particularly when dealing with customers
• Ability to set up and manage payment plans where needed
• Strong Excel skills and the ability to quickly adapt to finance systems
• Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
• A proactive, solution-focused attitude with the ability to work independently
• Flexibility and a team-oriented mindset
