Credit Controller

Adele Carr Recruitment is proud to be working exclusively with a reputable and growing business in their search for a Credit Controller to join their established Accounts Receivable team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys managing customer accounts, resolving queries, and playing a key part in the finance function.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

• Ensure daily balancingof the sales ledger against the nominal ledger, investigating and resolving any variances.
• Download daily sales invoicesfrom a bespoke system and compile daybooks for management review.
• Assess creditworthinessof new and existing customers to support informed decision-making.
• Allocate and post incoming paymentsaccurately and promptly.
• Proactively chase outstanding debtvia phone and email, maintaining professional relationships with clients.
• Issue accurate customer statementsand respond to invoice requests.
• Liaise with internal departments to resolve queries and avoid overdue payments.
• Escalate overdue accounts to the AR Team Leader when appropriate.
• Attend credit control meetingsand provide consistent, accurate reports on the debtor position.
• Complete month-end processeswithin set deadlines.
• Conduct weekly bank reconciliations(GBP, USD, EUR).
• Support the wider finance team with ad hoc dutiesas required.

What is required of yourself?:

• Previous experience in a similar Credit Controlor Accounts Receivable
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
• Experience with Sageor similar accounting systems (preferred).
• Confident communicator with a professional and courteous approach.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
• A proactive and solution-focused attitude.
• Experience within the shipping or logistics sectoris desirable but not essential.
