Credit Controller

About the Company:
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established and growing business in the construction supply sector, based in BB5. Known across the UK for delivering innovative roofing and building products, the company prides itself on quality, service, and continued investment in its people and processes. Due to ongoing growth, they are looking to recruit a resilient and driven Credit Controller to join their finance team.

The Role:
This is a key role within the business, responsible for managing the sales ledger and ensuring prompt collection of outstanding payments. Working as part of a supportive finance team, you'll take ownership of the credit control process and help maintain healthy cash flow across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Chasing outstanding debts via phone and email in a professional and persistent manner
• Building strong relationships with customers to ensure timely payments
• Resolving invoice queries efficiently and accurately
• Allocating incoming payments and reconciling customer accounts
• Monitoring credit limits and payment terms
• Producing aged debt reports for management
• Liaising with internal departments to resolve account issues
• Recommending further action on seriously overdue accounts

Person Specification:

• Previous experience in a credit control role is essential
• Experience using Opera accounting software is highly advantageous
• A background in construction, manufacturing or distribution would be beneficial
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Highly organised with a strong attention to detail
• Proactive, determined, and able to work well under pressure
• Proficient in Excel and financial systems
