Job Description - Credit Controller

We’re working with a well-established business based in Wickford, Essex, who are looking for a confident and motivated Credit Controller to join their finance team on a permanent, full-time basis.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong credit control experience who enjoys building relationships, problem-solving, and working in a fast-paced environment. You'll play a key role in chasing overdue payments, reviewing credit limits, reconciling accounts, and liaising with both internal teams and external customers to resolve queries efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Chasing outstanding payments by phone, email and letter
Setting and reviewing credit limits and payment terms
Reconciling customer accounts and checking remittances
Sending monthly statements and maintaining contact records
Working closely with internal departments to resolve invoice issues
Starting legal proceedings or repossessions where necessary

What we’re looking for:

Previous credit control experience
Strong communication and organisational skills
Confident using Excel (advanced level preferred)
Experience using SAGE 200 (desirable)
Positive, proactive and able to work under pressure
