Job Description - Credit Controller

  • London Bridge
  • Hybrid Working
  • Generous Benefits Package
If you have at least 18 months’ experience in credit control or accounts receivable within a law firm and are looking for a more involved role where you can build strong relationships and make a meaningful impact, then read on.

In this role, you’ll go beyond the basics, using your communication skills, persistence and insight to reduce aged debt in a collaborative and people first environment.

You’ll work closely with Partners and core clients, navigating busy schedules and varied communication styles with tact and professionalism.

Success here comes from being thorough and proactive, reading between the lines of file notes, reaching out at the right time and asking the right questions to resolve even the trickiest balances.

You'll be joining two experienced credit control specialists as part of a wider finance team of around 10 people. The team values high performance but also places a real emphasis on support, connection and enjoying the wins together.

The firm offers hybrid working and regular opportunities to connect socially, whether that’s a team lunch or informal drinks after a busy week (with no pressure to join in).

Your core responsibilities will include:
  • Managing aged WIP and debt to support healthy cashflow
  • Meeting with Partners to review balances and discuss next steps
  • Contacting clients for payment and maintaining accurate credit system records
  • Preparing statements and initiating appropriate debt recovery action
  • Reviewing client account funds
  • Supporting process improvements and covering team absences as needed
This opportunity is with a highly regarded top 100 law firm of around 200 people, based near London Bridge. With over 300 years of history advising entrepreneurs, family owned businesses and high net worth individuals, the firm blends longstanding prestige with a personal and modern approach.

You'll benefit from direct access to senior stakeholders, high quality work and a culture that prioritises people and long-term development.

The benefits package includes private medical insurance, a contributory pension, generous annual leave, flexible working, enhanced parental leave and performance bonuses, as well as a strong focus on wellbeing and professional growth.
