Job Description - Credit Controller

Do you enjoy building relationships and speaking with different people every day?

Are you looking to join a well-established manufacturing business in Ipswich with a strong reputation and real opportunities to develop your career?

We’re recruiting for a permanent, full-time experienced Credit Controller to work within a busy, supportive finance team. No two days will be the same, and you’ll play a key role in maintaining excellent customer relationships while ensuring smooth cash flow for the business.

Paying up to £30,000 with an annual bonus as well!!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately record all credit control activity, including chasing and payment commitments

  • Work closely with your team leader to resolve any account issues effectively

  • Support colleagues with their workload when required

  • Reduce overdue debts through proactive follow-up and communication

  • Oversee the set-up of new customer accounts, including credit limit approvals and monitoring

  • Maintain strong working relationships with customers and internal teams

  • Escalate issues promptly when necessary

  • Collaborate with operational departments to support business needs

  • Assist managers with occasional ad-hoc finance projects

  • Prepare and present updates to stakeholders clearly and concisely

  • Complete daily bank reconciliations

  • Provide cover and support for other finance assistant roles when needed

Requirements:

As a Credit Controller, you will need…

  • Proven experience in credit control or accounts receivable roles.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage relationships and resolve disputes professionally.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • The ability to work effectively with internal departments and escalate concerns where necessary.
