Credit Controller / Sales Ledger
Location: West Kent (Hybrid)
Salary: £30,000 – £32,000 DOE + benefits
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent

Do you get real satisfaction from bringing an aged debt report down to almost nothing?

We’re working with a well-established, growing business in West Kent that needs an experienced Credit Controller to join its friendly finance team. This is a hands-on role with plenty of ownership. You’ll manage the full sales ledger, from raising an invoice to banking the cash, with the trust and autonomy to run it your way.

The role

* Managing the sales ledger day to day, including invoices, credit notes and keeping customer accounts accurate

* Allocating payments and remittances and keeping banking up to date

* Completing the sales ledger month-end close on time

* Chasing overdue accounts by phone and email, starting with the oldest and highest-risk debt

* Handling a varied customer base, from straightforward portal-based payers to accounts that need a more persistent approach

* Resolving queries, payment delays and missing POs with customers and internal teams

* Running credit checks and reconciliations, producing aged debt reports and supporting the year-end audit

About you

* Solid experience in credit control, accounts receivable or sales ledger

* Advanced Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables, with examples of your work you can share

* Experience with SAP Business One is ideal, though other ERP or accounting systems will be considered

* A confident, professional manner on the phone and the persistence to follow up until payment is made

* Strong attention to detail, good organisation and a natural instinct to resolve problems

* £30,000 – £32,000 depending on experience
