Are you an experienced Credit Controller who enjoys building positive customer relationships whilst maintaining strong financial controls?

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing business based in Kidlington that is seeking a confident and proactive Credit Controller / Finance Assistant to join their friendly finance team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role, combining credit control, customer interaction and wider finance support responsibilities within a successful and supportive organisation.

The Role

As Credit Controller / Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring customer accounts are managed effectively whilst providing excellent service throughout the collection process.

Key responsibilities will include:

Proactively managing and collecting outstanding debt

Chasing overdue payments via telephone, email and written correspondence

Maintaining and reconciling customer accounts

Allocating customer payments accurately

Producing regular debtor and aged debt reports

Issuing statements and supporting documentation

Investigating and resolving payment queries

Processing new credit account applications and conducting credit checks

Supporting the wider finance team with additional duties as required

Assisting in maintaining debtor days and cash flow targets 

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will have:

✅ Previous credit control and sales ledger experience

✅ Strong communication and customer service skills

✅ Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

✅ Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

✅ The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

✅ A proactive approach and confidence dealing with customers over the phone

✅ The ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Desirable

Sage 200 experience

Experience within a busy finance department

Knowledge of credit checks and account set-up processes
