Crime Duty Solicitor

My client is seeking dynamic, commercially minded Crime Duty Solicitor to join their firm in Blackburn, Lancashire.

The successful Crime Duty Solicitor will join a friendly and supportive firm that has established itself as one of the leading Criminal Law firms in the area attracting challenging, high-profile matters across general and serious crime and fraud.

The firm works both legal aid cased and represent clients that are privately paying thus expect a high level of advice and representation. Their privately paying clients expect nothing but the best, a service to be proud to deliver around the clock as a result the successful candidate will be expected to flex to the needs of the business when needed.

Responsibilities

• You will have responsibility for and will develop and deal with a caseload of Crime Work including representation at the Police Station and Magistrates Court.
• Part of the out of hours rota for Police Station attendance.
• You will be enthusiastic and energetic in developing and maintaining local and regional networks to attract and secure new business.

You must be able to demonstrate:

• legal research skills
• fluency in spoken and in written English and must be able to compose written communications to agencies and clients they work with to a high standard. Computer literate as our offices are fully computerized and uses an integrated practice case management system.
