A pioneering biotech company based in Cambridge is seeking a commercially-minded and technically accomplished Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the development and scale-up of an innovative diagnostic platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the technical roadmap, from concept through to commercialisation.
• Lead and grow a multidisciplinary R&D and engineering team.
• Ensure robust development of diagnostic products in line with regulatory and commercial requirements.
• Oversee technology transfer and manage the transition to commercial-scale manufacturing.
• Work closely with the CEO and board to shape business strategy, support fundraising, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
• Cultivate and manage external relationships with manufacturers, academic collaborators, and clinical partners.

Essential Criteria

• Advanced degree (Ph.D. or Master's) in a relevant technical or scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in product development within life sciences or diagnostics.
• At least 3 years in a senior technical or product leadership role in a commercial organisation.
• Proven experience taking an in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) product to market and through commercial-scale manufacturing.
• Strong background in startup environments, including fundraising, board engagement, and strategic planning.
