Job Description - Customer service

Job Title: Customer Service RepresentativeLocation: Chorley, Lancashire
Salary: £24,000 – £28,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Work Environment: Fully office-based

We are currently seeking a confident and detail-oriented Customer Service Representative to join our office-based team and contribute to our continued success.
Role Summary
As a Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for handling customer enquiries, processing orders, and ensuring a smooth and efficient service experience. This is a fully office-based role, ideal for someone who thrives in a structured environment and enjoys working as part of a close-knit team.
Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the first point of contact for customers via phone and email
  • Process incoming orders, returns, and general account queries
  • Update and maintain accurate records on CRM and order management systems
  • Coordinate with internal teams such as logistics, sales, and finance to resolve customer queries
  • Handle delivery issues, product enquiries, and service complaints in a professional manner
  • Support account managers and provide administrative support as required
  • Continuously look for ways to improve service efficiency and customer satisfaction
Key Requirements
  • Experience in a customer service, administration, or sales support role
  • Strong communication skills with a polite, helpful, and professional manner
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team player
  • Strong organisational skills and a commitment to delivering excellent service
Desirable:
  • Experience using CRM or ERP/order processing systems
  • Background in a manufacturing, distribution, or product-based industry
