Customer Service and Sales Operative

My client, based in Hartlepool, is on the lookout for a friendly and motivated Customer Service & Sales Operator to join their growing Commercial & Business Development Team.

You'll be the first point of contact for customers, helping to build strong, lasting relationships and playing an important role in sales campaigns and business growth. It’s a hands-on role with plenty of scope to make a real difference.

Responsibilities:

• Taking and processing sales orders by phone and email
• Looking after existing customer accounts and making sure they get the best service
• Turning enquiries into confirmed sales
• Following up on leads from marketing campaigns
• Sending out product samples and making sure follow-ups don’t fall through the cracks
• Helping the sales team with day-to-day admin and coordination
• Dealing with web orders and answering questions through the online chat
• Getting involved with more specialist areas like export orders and custom products
• Sharing ideas to improve how things are done and keep customers happy

What we’re looking for:

• Previous experience in a customer service or sales role
• An interest in manufacturing or some understanding of how things are made (nice to have, but not essential)
• A people person who’s confident, professional, and approachable
• Someone comfortable using online systems, chat tools, and CRM software
• A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to roll up your sleeves
• Team player who’s always keen to learn and grow
