Customer Service Assistant - Casual - Marina Centre

The Marina Centre is a vibrant facility offering everything from a leisure pool with slides and splash zone, to a state-of-the-art gym, sports hall, and beachside café. Our café is a key community hub — a space to refuel, relax, and connect — and we’re looking for a Catering Assistant to help us keep it running smoothly.

About the Role:

As a Catering Assistant, you will be a vital part of our front-of-house and kitchen team. Your responsibilities will include:

• Barista service – preparing high-quality hot and cold drinks to order
• Cooking and food prep – assisting with the preparation of fresh food and light meals
• Customer service – greeting and serving customers in a friendly, efficient manner
• Till operation – handling transactions, taking orders, and promoting offers
• Cleaning and hygiene – ensuring all kitchen, café and vending areas are clean, safe and hygienic
• Opening and closing – helping to set up and close down café operations, including stock checks and equipment cleaning
• Vending and pot wash – maintaining vending machines, dishwashing and ensuring all crockery and utensils are cleaned and stored correctly

About You:

We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, reliable, and takes pride in their work. Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience in a café, kitchen or catering environment
• Good customer service and communication skills
• Basic food hygiene knowledge (although full training is provided)
• Willingness to learn and work flexibly as part of a team

Hours: Casual hours, as and when required.
