Job Description - Customer Service Officer - Housing

Start date 1st August - End date 31st December - full time temporary contract - 37 hours per week

Our client has an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join the tenancy advice and repairs team as a Customer Service Officer in their busy housing office.

This role will be office based initially, moving to a mixture of office and working from home, following intensive training.

The team is responsible for dealing with all customer contacts over the telephone, so an ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills is essential. The role includes managing telephone calls and emails from residents diagnosing the repair required and booking appointments. The candidate will be required to work under pressure and be able to use their own initiative to deal with a variety of challenging and difficult situations. We are looking for a strong team player who is proactive and effective at delivering the best customer service.

Main Responsibilities:

· To act as a first point of contact for residents, leaseholders and other external agencies.· On a daily basis, either by telephone or front line reception, to receive repairs requests, housing management enquiries and/or other related matters with a view to swift resolution or appropriate signposting· To answer the telephone in a professional manner in line with company policy, obtaining the appropriate information and relaying messages accurately by email when necessary.· To undertake general office duties to include dealing with incoming and outgoing mail, electronic filing systems, processing of invoices and receiving visitors.· Carry out reception duties as required and assist or provide cover for colleagues as and when needed. As the 'face’ of the company, greet visitors in a professional, friendly and welcoming manner· Attend appropriate training sessions and/or meetings, both formal and informal, as and when required.· To undertake customer satisfaction telephone surveys, organise post inspections and analyse feedback.· Contribute to ideas for improvements in service, working parties, team meetings and other forums in a creative and imaginative way.
