Job Description - Customer Service Team Leader

Customer Service Team Leader – £30,000
Location: Shipley
Salary: Up to £30,000
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Are you an experienced Customer Service Team Leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment? Do you enjoy leading a team, resolving complex queries, and delivering high-quality service? If so, we have an excellent opportunity for you.

We’re working exclusively with a well-established and growing business in the [FMCG / Manufacturing / Professional Services – insert if known or leave general] sector, looking to appoint a Customer Service Team Leader to join their dedicated and high-performing Customer Services team.

The Role

As Customer Service Team Leader, you will be a key point of contact for complex queries and escalations while supporting, coaching, and motivating a team of Customer Service Advisors. You'll work closely with management to ensure service levels and KPIs are consistently met, and will play a hands-on role in process improvements and staff development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level customer service and resolve customer complaints and escalations

  • Lead, coach, and support a team of advisors to hit personal and team KPIs

  • Conduct regular 1:1s, appraisals, and performance reviews

  • Monitor workloads and maintain appropriate staffing levels to meet demand

  • Act as the first point of contact for complex technical or service-related enquiries

  • Ensure the team is up to date with all process and compliance changes

  • Lead by example and promote a culture of continuous improvement

  • Report on team performance and contribute to operational improvements

About You
  • Proven experience in a team leader/supervisory role within a customer service environment

  • Strong communication and people management skills

  • Ability to resolve complex issues with professionalism and empathy

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities

  • Proficient in using CRM systems and reporting tools

  • A natural leader who motivates and inspires their team
