Customer Service Transport Operator - Tamworth - Up to £35,000
We are seeking a highly organised and customer-focused Customer Service Transport Operator to join our client's busy transport team based in . The successful candidate will be responsible for managing customer transport volumes on a daily basis, coordinating with internal departments, and ensuring exceptional service delivery to our customers.
Working within a fast-paced transport environment, you will act as a key point of contact between customers and operational teams, helping to resolve issues efficiently while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Manage customers' daily transport volumes, ensuring all requirements are planned and communicated effectively. Liaise with Maritime operational and transport teams to resolve any service issues or operational challenges. Act as the primary point of contact for customers, providing a high standard of customer service at all times. Monitor transport movements and proactively communicate updates to customers. Investigate and resolve customer queries, concerns, and service issues promptly. Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders. Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of transport management systems. Produce and update reports using Microsoft Excel and other IT systems. Support the wider transport operation to ensure service levels and customer expectations are consistently achieved. Work collaboratively as part of a successful and dynamic team environment.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
Previous experience within the transport, logistics, or haulage industry. Strong understanding of transport operations and customer service requirements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience dealing directly with customers in a professional environment. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Good problem-solving and organisational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel. Comfortable working with transport management and IT systems. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
Previous experience in a transport planning, customer service, or logistics coordination role. Knowledge of container logistics and maritime transport operations.
