A global engineering organisation specialising in water management solutions is seeking an experienced Customer Support Engineer to join their technical team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong mechanical, electrical, or process engineering background who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, supporting customers, and working with advanced engineered systems across international markets.
You will provide expert technical support to customers and partners, ensuring the successful installation, operation, and ongoing performance of specialist water management systems.
The Role
As a Customer Support Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Providing advanced technical support to customers, partners, and internal teams Travelling to customer sites across the UK and internationally to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues Supporting the installation, commissioning, validation, and troubleshooting of water management systems Carrying out fault finding across mechanical, electrical, and control systems Supporting product testing, performance reviews, and continuous improvement activities Producing clear technical reports, documentation, and troubleshooting guides Delivering technical training and support to customers and global partners Managing warranty investigations and assessing returned equipment Providing technical input into product risk assessments and engineering improvementsThe role offers a varied and hands-on workload, with a high level of autonomy, customer interaction, and international travel opportunities, including occasional overnight stays and extended trips.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience working in a customer support, technical support, service engineering, applications engineering, or similar engineering role A strong technical understanding of water management systems, process equipment, or industrial machinery Knowledge of mechanical systems, instrumentation, and control systems Experience diagnosing faults using tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes A methodical approach to problem-solving and root cause analysis Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to customers and stakeholders Experience writing technical reports and maintaining documentation Confidence working independently in customer-facing environments
Desirable Experience
Background in mechanical, chemical, electrical, or process engineering Experience supporting complex water systems or industrial equipment Engineering qualification (BTEC Level 4 or equivalent) Experience delivering technical training or customer presentations Experience working with international customers or distribution networks Additional language skills
