Job Description - Cyber Security Presales Consultant

I am working on behalf of a market-leading cyber security consultancy and managed services provider.

You will be responsible for supporting the sales team in the development of commercial opportunity by understanding complex customer requirements and providing technical opportunity support, including contributing to technical elements of the solution proposals, Bill of Materials, High level design documentation and ROI analysis.

You will attend meetings and join conference calls with sales account managers to discuss the detailed technical requirements of a customer engagement and provide consultative advice and alternative paths to project success as appropriate to build customer confidence and our brand and our ability to deliver complex technical security solutions successfully.

You will own and positively develop the relationships with key technical decision makers and influencers not only within new and existing customer bases but within each of our key vendors. Pro-active engagement in research to assist in market awareness and the recognition of nuances/trends within the industry all play a vital part in defining this role.

Provide In depth technical knowledge to contribute to the creation of commercial quotations
Ownership of the design of technical solutions and services provided to their clients in support of the account managers. This may require multiple commercial options to be constructed, analysed and then discussed with the client to enable the client to reach a suitable decision

Communicate with leadership both internally and within the client to articulate solution and technical capability aligned to the business challenges.
Strong documentation standards which articulate technical concepts in an easy-to-understand way to enable a wide set of stakeholders to understand proposed solutions against unique business challenges.
Build custom demonstrations and deliver Proof of Concepts for customers
Ability to create solution design based on customer inputs and business challenges being faced. This may involve technical, budgetary or timescale pressures.

Travel to client sites to provide technical pre-sales support to account managers
Gain and maintain a good working understanding of technologies and vendors in the portfolio such that customers’ expectations are met or exceeded.
Participate in the technical handover of sales to the relevant project team. This will involve the creation of pre-defined documentation.
Enablement of technical delivery teams to understand the scope of proposed solutions, and any unique nuance of proposed designs.
Ensure personal technical, communication and commercial skills are kept up to date.

Required Competencies (Skills, Knowledge, Experience, Qualifications)
Strong understanding of TCP/IP and internet technologies

Experience of working in a similar position within the Cyber Security industry

Understanding of Firewall and edge network security technologies

Strong written skills with experience of leading creation of HLD and LLD documentation for specific customer solutions

Ability to design Infrastructure solutions for high availability, resiliency, integrity, and security

Experience and strong understanding of one or more of the following:

Public Cloud technologies, including experience with Azure (or similar)
Endpoint Security technologies
SIEM products
Automation technologies such as SOAR
Virtualisation
Microsoft security stack
