Data Analyst

We are urgently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Power BI expert to join us as Data Analyst to help us unlock the full potential of our data. In this role, you will support business reporting, design and develop powerful dashboards, and drive insights to help the business make informed decisions and improve performance.

As a Data Analyst, you will play a key role in transforming raw data into actionable insights. Your expertise in Power BI will allow you to create impactful reports and dashboards that enable Charis and our external clients to better understand business performance. You’ll collaborate closely with stakeholders across departments to develop custom solutions and ensure that reports and data models are both accurate and efficient.

What you will be doing:

• Data Extraction and Integration: Pull data from diverse sources, including SQL databases, Excel spreadsheets, and cloud services, to create clean, integrated datasets.
• Power BI Reporting and Dashboarding: Design and develop interactive, visually appealing Power BI reports and dashboards that provide valuable insights into business performance and key metrics.
• Data Transformation: Use Power Query to clean and prepare raw data for analysis, ensuring high-quality data sets.
• DAX Development: Leverage DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) to build calculated columns and metrics that enhance reporting and decision-making.
• Optimisation & Performance: Continuously monitor and optimize report performance, particularly when dealing with large datasets, to ensure fast load times and an excellent user experience.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with business stakeholders, including the Finance Reporting Analyst, to understand their requirements and deliver customized solutions. You’ll also be responsible for explaining complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest Power BI features and best practices to drive process improvements and keep reporting solutions innovative.

To successfully apply you must be expert in power BI Desktop, and Power Bi Service and show measurable experience in a previous role with DAX (Data Analysis Expressions). You must show how you have created the tools and processes to capture raw data, analyse it and produce insightful commentary and narrative to support business decision making.

You must also have previously used Power Query and have knowledge of SQL and relational databases and cloud platforms, ideally MS Azure. You will need to be confident communicating with stakeholders at all levels and be assured in translating your insights to non-technical audiences.
