Data Analytics & AI Engineer + £50,000 Basic + Bonus + Benefits + Monday-Friday + Industrial Manufacturing + Expanding Company and Markets.
The Company
Our client is a specialist business operating within the advanced materials and metals sector, supplying high-performance materials to a range of industrial and commercial markets. With a focus on technical expertise, quality and customer service, the business is continuing to develop its systems, processes and capabilities to support future growth. This is an opportunity to join an evolving organisation where innovation, practical problem-solving and the effective use of technology can make a tangible difference to business performance.
The Role
Based in Ellesmere Port, with occasional travel, the Data Analytics & AI Engineer will play a key role in improving business efficiency and decision-making through data analytics, automation and artificial intelligence. Working closely with commercial, sales, finance, operations and technical teams, you will develop sophisticated Excel models, produce insightful PowerPoint presentations and transform manual, knowledge-intensive processes into reliable, AI-enabled tools. You will also support the wider adoption of AI across the business, evaluating emerging technologies, developing practical workflows and delivering tailored training to colleagues. A key part of the role will be helping to establish effective AI governance, ensuring tools are used responsibly and that outputs are accurate, secure and fit for purpose.
The Person
We are seeking an analytical, commercially minded individual with a demonstrable track record of using large language models, such as Claude and Claude Cowork, to deliver tangible business improvements. You will have advanced Excel modelling skills, strong PowerPoint and data presentation capabilities, and experience translating complex processes or specialist knowledge into practical, automated solutions. Equally important is your ability to communicate clearly with non-technical colleagues, build confidence in AI and deliver engaging, tailored training. You will combine sound analytical judgement with a pragmatic, hands-on approach, a keen interest in emerging technology and the confidence to shape new ways of working in a fast-moving environment. Experience with SQL, Python, Power BI, AI workflows or industrial markets would be advantageous but is not essential.
