Data Architect

Data Architect is required for a European leader in cloud implementation, application development and managed services working within the Banking and Finance industry. We are looking for an experienced Data Architect, with hands on delivery background and strong stakeholder management. You will work in the cloud practice for the UK business, acting as a technology expert, mentor and team lead on client facing projects as well as helping to improve the service offerings.

Start Date: ASAP

Location: 1 day a week onsite in Edinburgh (travel cost will be expensed)

Responsibilities:

Database Management Systems (DBMS): Proficiency in various database systems like DB2, Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or Redis.

Data Modelling: Expertise in designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models. Understanding of normalization and denormalization techniques.

ETL (Extract, Transform, Load): Knowledge of ETL processes and tools to integrate data from various sources into a data warehouse or other storage systems.

Data Warehousing: Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and technologies, including star and snowflake schema designs.

Big Data Technologies: Understanding of big data platforms such as Hadoop, Spark, and tools like Hive, Pig, and HBase.

Data Integration: Ability to integrate data from disparate sources using middleware or integration tools as well as streaming capabilities such as Kafka.

Data Quality Management: Knowledge of data quality assessment and management techniques.

Data Governance: Understanding of data governance principles and the ability to implement data governance frameworks.

Metadata Management: Proficiency in managing metadata to document and trace data lineage.

Cloud Platforms: Experience with Google Cloud, and the ability to design data solutions in a cloud environment.
