Data Engineer

Broster Buchanan are partnered with a quickly growing UK health eCommerce business who are looking to add a Data Engineer to their growing data team. They are a multi award winning business, including a Sunday Times best employer award, and offer great progression and development opportunities. They are looking for a proven data engineer with experience across BI reporting tools, data visualisation and enterprise data warehouse platforms.

This role is being offered with a salary of £50k - £65k + a discretionary 10% bonus and will be based onsite in their Liverpool office Monday - Thursday with Friday working remotely, with the potential to do 3 days onsite and 2 remote for the right person.

Responsibilities:

• Managing and delivering end to end BI reporting projects from initial brief/requirement gathering to data pipeline development (APIs/ETL/ELT/SQL) to visualisation
• Undertaking ad hoc BI tasks based on business requirements and priorities
• As part of the BI team you will be responsible for the day to day maintenance and enhancement of the data quality, security and performance of the Data Lake/Warehouse
• Assisting your Data Analyst colleagues to generate impactful business insights and analysis
• Support the Senior Data Engineer in managing the BI ticket system to ensure tasks are resolved in a timely and effective manner

Requirements:

• Demonstrable data engineering experience with an enterprise data warehouse platform, as the client is using GCP experience with GCP tools would be a plus but isn’t essential
• Strong SQL, Python and API experience
• Experience with visualisation tools e.g Data Studio, Tableau, Power BI
• Ability to gather requirements from stakeholders across the business and turn into deliverables
• Excellent relationship building skills and ability to influence at various levels
• Understanding of data pipeline/orchestration tools e.g. dbt, dataform
• Any industry experience within health/eCommerce would be highly beneficial
• Any experience with low-code/no-code data platforms e.g. Retool, Hex would be beneficial
