Job Description - Data Engineer

Your new role

As a Data Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data systems on the Microsoft Azure platform. You'll build robust data pipelines, integrate diverse data sources, and ensure data is optimised for analytics and reporting. Your work will support strategic decision-making across the organisation by enabling seamless data flow and accessibility. You'll collaborate closely with IT teams, business units, and stakeholders to deliver high-performance, secure, and compliant data solutions. From troubleshooting and documentation to performance tuning and innovation, your contributions will be vital to our digital transformation journey.

What you'll need to succeed

They are looking for a proactive and skilled Data Engineer with the following:

  • Recent experience in data engineering, particularly within the Azure ecosystem.
  • Proven expertise in building and optimising data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure Data Services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database).
  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python, Java, or Scala).
  • Experience with data warehousing and Azure DevOps for CI/CD integration.
  • Familiarity with API integration and creating data processing scripts or run books.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
