Data Engineering Manager

A global Insurance organisation is looking to hire Data Engineering Manager to oversee a centralised data analytics centre for the commercial and technical areas, providing consolidated, accurate data analysis working closely and in tandem with the Data Science and Data Programme Managers. You will play a key role within the company's Transformation function which sits within Underwriting. This is a unique opportunity to work within a team that is driving change within the commercial front end of the insurance business.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:
· Have experience of the application of Data Engineering within the Insurance sector (could be a data focused Actuary going down the Data Engineering route or Data Engineer with commercial insurance experience)
· Have experience of managing data teams and/or projects with strong stakeholder management skills.
· Programming experience essential with direct exposure to Python and SQL.
· An understanding and experience of the Databricks platform desirable
· Experience of working with, and knowledge of, Data Science practices desirable
· Experience of automation and CI/CD pipelines desirable
· Possessing consulting, organisational transformation and/or change management experience
· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complicated processes and concepts to non-experts
· Excellent analytical skills (capable of understanding complex data structures, organise and structure data extracts)
· Exceptional academic background in Maths and IT from top tier university
