You will provide the operational expertise behind the firm's data management, ensuring data related business requirements are designed, built and deployed in line with the Data Strategy, and supporting the delivery of data governance and business intelligence across the business, ensuring every solution satisfies the security, governance, quality and operational resilience expectations of a regulated environment.

What you will be doing

* Work closely with functions and data owners to understand information needs, translating business requirements into effective queries and analysis

* Collect, cleanse and analyse large datasets to identify trends, patterns and anomalies, applying statistical methods to extract meaningful insight from diverse sources

* Support the design and embedding of data requirements, including regulatory requirements, across the business

* Keep information handling effective and compliant, meeting regulatory requirements for storage, retention, deletion and classification

* Contribute to the Electronic Document Management System, ensuring effective structure and metadata, compliant access controls, reporting and operational oversight

* Support effective data governance across the business, including policies, standards and procedures

* Establish and enforce data quality standards, ensuring accuracy and reliability across the organisation

* Support the Data Governance Operating Model and the day-to-day delivery of data governance tooling

* Ensure new and existing data assets, products and services adhere to relevant policies, standards and controls

* Prepare and load reference and master data into core systems to support workflow and reporting

* Build and maintain data quality dashboards

* Drive engagement, awareness and training in data management and governance across the business

* Monitor and analyse information and data systems, identifying opportunities for enhancement, from upgrades and automation to the responsible adoption of AI and machine learning

* Work with the Data Manager to keep data science tooling efficient and consistent, enabling colleagues to use the latest business intelligence and analytics technologies

* Investigate and support the remediation of data related problems through to resolution

* Identify and escalate risk across your area of responsibility

What you will need

* Knowledge of data governance principles and best practice

* Experience and knowledge of data management techniques, including operational analytics and assurance reporting

* Demonstrable experience of data analytics in a business environment

* Experience of implementing data governance tooling

* Use of BI tools in a demanding, complex business environment

* Experience of documenting data assets and data lineage

* Business analysis tools and techniques in both waterfall and agile environments

* The confidence to manage stakeholders across technology, risk and the business

* Sound judgement when reconciling conflicting information and competing priorities

* Effective planning, organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage conflicting priorities

* Strong interpersonal, problem-solving and presentation skills

* Excellent written, verbal and numeracy skills, with high levels of integrity

* A degree or equivalent experience, with continued development in data management and BI tools and methodologies

It would also help if you have

Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI

Financial services knowledge

Previous data management within a financially regulated company

Experience supporting the delivery of training

DAMA CDMP certification

Broader corporate awareness spanning health and safety, ICT systems, HR, information management and data protection
