Data Protection Paralegal

Sue Ross Recruitment are working on behalf of our client, a highly respected law firm to recruit a Data Protection Paralegal to join their busy team
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with previous litigation experience who thrives in a fast‑paced environment. You will play a key role in supporting Litigation Solicitors, whilst assisting clients through every stage of the claim process.
As a Data Protection Paralegal, your responsibilities will include
* Handling consumer privacy violations, data breach compensation claims (such as major corporate leaks), and group litigation.
* Taking initial client instructions, gathering evidence, setting up files, and assisting fee-earners with data protection litigation.
* Applying knowledge of the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and misuse of private information torts.
Typical Paralegal Responsibilities
* Client Onboarding: Communicating with claimants to secure relevant proof of distress or data loss.
* Case Administration: Managing electronic case files, tracking deadlines, and maintaining compliance standards.
* Document Review: Assisting with data disclosure, scheduling documents, and reviewing breach notifications.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
* Previous experience working within a law firm
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
* Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach
* A professional, empathetic and resilient attitude when dealing with sensitive and challenging situations
