£66,000 - £75,000 + bonus

VIQU has partnered with a leading supply chain company seeking a Data Solutions Lead to bridge the gap between business and technical teams, driving innovation and ensuring high-quality solutions. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on delivery, adapting to the needs of each project phase.

Key Responsibilities of the Data Solutions Lead:

• Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating business needs into effective data solutions and designs.
• Lead solution design and strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical feasibility.
• Engage with stakeholders to understand platform requirements and translate them into actionable plans.
• Guide teams on best practices and technical strategy while providing mentorship.
• Contribute to technical delivery where needed, including creating demos and proofs of concept.
• Ensure performance, security, and scalability of data solutions.

Key Requirements of the Data Solutions Lead:

• Expert in Databricks (experience with Databricks on AWS or Azure).
• Strong Python and SQL skills for logistics and delivery optimisation.
• Background in solution design and business engagement.
• Understanding of AWS (e.g., EC2, Lambda, Fargate) is beneficial.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar; Master’s preferred, with 8+ years in data engineering and leadership.
• Experienced in Spark workloads, data modelling, and pipeline optimisation.
• Skilled in mentoring, stakeholder communication, and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with security standards (e.g., NIST, PCI) and ticketing systems like JIRA.
