Defence Analytics Director

Our client is growing rapidly within Government and Defence consulting and is looking for an experienced Data Leader to drive data excellence with their team and clients.

The ideal candidate will be a commercially and technically minded manager with a track record of delivering successful client engagements.

The Director will manage relationships and give technical guidance across a multi-disciplinary team of data visualisation, automation, infrastructure and data science experts so this really is an exciting opportunity!

Working Patterns - 2-3 days per week onsite with clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead client engagements, delivery strategy and provide technical delivery within Defence and National Security.
• Design, develop and deliver data-driven solutions to drive insights and performance.
• Produce design documents and technical specifications, including functional and non-functional requirements and end-to-end data processes.
• Lead and contribute to business development activities and proposal writing.
• Identify and establish new client relationships, whilst maintaining and developing existing relationships.
• Support the build and deployment of data systems and their data pipelines whilst being able to analyse and resolve data quality issues.
• Lead and mentor teams and drive them through to delivery.

Skills & experience

• Demonstrable experience leading Consultancy teams within Defence, Government or Public Sector.
• Proven track record of implementing data reporting and dashboarding solutions.
• Hands on experience designing or implementing data architecture with understanding of the Azure data stack.
• Hands on experience working with analytics languages such as SQL or Python.
• Able to translate complex technical subject matter into easily understood presentations and written documentation for mixed technical audiences.
• An understanding of or experience of data modelling would be beneficial.
• It is desirable to have some experience of Azure.
