We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Full-Time Dental Nurse to join our friendly team at Bellstane Dental Care.
The role is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:30pm.
Bellstane Dental Care is a friendly, family-orientated practice conveniently located in the picturesque town of South Queensferry. We welcome both new and existing private and NHS patients, with a focus on providing the highest standards of patient care and treatment in a relaxed, professional environment.
Our practice currently has three Associates and is a VT training practice, providing an excellent environment for professional development and learning.
The practice has recently undergone a full refurbishment and is equipped with two new digital scanners, alongside modern facilities and technology to support high-quality patient care.
The position
You will provide high-quality chairside support to our clinicians across the day-to-day activities of the practice and surgeries.
You will play an important role in delivering an excellent patient experience while ensuring compliance with all relevant clinical, infection control and health & safety procedures.
Creating a warm, friendly and welcoming environment for patients, helping them feel comfortable and at ease from the outset.
Providing effective chairside support to clinicians and anticipating the needs of both the clinician and patient.
Preparing surgeries appropriately for each session and ensuring they are maintained to a high standard throughout the day.
Ensuring all necessary instruments, equipment and laboratory work are available and prepared in advance of each appointment.
Maximising the use of the practice management system (Software of Excellence/Exact) to ensure patient records are maintained accurately and efficiently.
Monitoring surgery stock levels and ensuring appropriate supplies are available at all times.
Maintaining high standards of clinical hygiene, infection control and health & safety in accordance with practice policies and relevant guidance.
Providing reception cover when required, including answering telephone calls, booking and managing appointments, dealing with patient enquiries and collecting patient charges.
Working collaboratively with the wider practice team to support the efficient running of the practice and deliver excellent patient care.
Undertaking any other reasonable duties required to support the smooth operation of the practice.

Previous experience working within a dental practice, ideally across both private and NHS settings.
