About the Role

Lloyd Recruitment Services are working with an established and trusted hire company in the Haywards Heath area, who are looking for an experienced Depot Foreman to lead the engineering team.

The company specialise in providing reliable and sustainable power solutions across a range of sectors, including construction, infrastructure, utilities, and more.

As Depot Foreman, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of the engineering department, ensuring all generators and related equipment are prepared, maintained, and delivered to the highest standards. You’ll also play a key role in driving team performance, upholding health and safety compliance, and maintaining an efficient, well-organised working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure all equipment meets relevant safety, compliance, and company standards
• Enforce and promote a strong health and safety culture
• Lead and manage a team of Engineers
• Supervise daily workshop operations, including stock control, logistics, and the Generator PDI process
• Attend customer site surveys, installations, and breakdowns as needed
• Provide out-of-hours support as part of the depot’s call-out rota
• Oversee equipment maintenance, diagnostics, servicing, and repairs
• Maintain optimal stock levels and accurate inventory records

Key Attributes of the Depot Foreman:

• Proven experience in a similar role within the equipment hire or power generation industry
• Engineering background with strong knowledge of plant and diesel engine maintenance (generators preferred)
• Solid team leadership experience
• Excellent organisational and multi-tasking skills
• Strong understanding of compliance and safety standards in an engineering setting
• Full UK driving licence
