Depot Manager

Depot Manager £33,000 - £40,000 DOE Basildon - Perm plus company bonus
Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 5:00pm (with requirement to cover shift staff holidays)
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Depot Manager to take full responsibility for our warehouse and yard operations in Basildon Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll lead a team of four and be accountable for delivering safe, compliant, and efficient daily operations across all depot functions.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, train, and support depot staff to maintain a safe, organised, and productive working environment.
* Oversee Goods In, Goods Out, stock control, and accurate data entry using INTACT systems.
* Ensure depot operations meet legal, safety, and environmental compliance requirements.
* Conduct audits and maintain open lines of communication with third-party H&S partners.
* Manage equipment checks and maintenance, including forklifts and vehicles.
* Liaise closely with internal departments and external partners to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
* Maintain depot security, organise rotas, and support resource planning for holidays and sickness.
* Monitor KPIs including picking/loading performance and stock accuracy, reporting directly to the Operations Manager.
* Assist in recruitment and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For:
* Experience in depot or warehouse management
* Sound knowledge of operational H&S and compliance requirements
* Strong team leadership, organisational, and communication skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with INTACT is an advantage
* Valid UK driving licence (Forklift licence ideal)
* Knowledge of O Licence compliance and warehouse procedures is desirable
